Katie Eary – Menswear Designer, One to Watch

The world of fashion is cutting edge, a tough but thriving place. Up and coming designers have the opportunity with both hands to grasp and focus on their own way to succeed. So often we see in the fashion world domination Womenswear. Meanwhile Menswear is a growing industry and really has much to offer to the fashion scene.

Katie Eary – Designer Menswear

Who is she?

Katie, a London-based designer, graduated with a Masters from the famous Royal College of Art, London. She has an incredibly striking, raw talent, along with some great attitude that helps her to create bold and noble menswear collections.

Katie was ready to head to Paris after graduation, with the hope of working with great designers like John Galliano and Jean Paul Gaultier, her latest collection of her Masters has been viewed by the fashionable British Vogue team and was picked up for a photoshoot by none other than the famous Mario Testino and Kate Moss modeled. Vogue Menswear turned in fashionable women’s clothing, a new concept. Katie described the Vogue to take its collection through a women’s eye line as a single, but the response is so beautiful. There is potential for a future Womenswear range. “Katie is overwhelmed by the interest in her collection.

What makes her inspiration?

Katie’s base for its collections show a strong notion of taking the books they read. Her latest A / W 1910 inspired the novel The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, who deals with the interplay of good and evil. The concept of light and dark silhouettes and how the devil comes into our lives provides a powerful, yet dark presence in her work. “Therefore my collection a take on the military equipment and an exploration of scale and proportion” is Katie explains.

According to Somerset House, we swept for the London Fashion Weekend. Gold tickets for priority passes in hand and we were quickly escorted to our seats for the catwalk show, with a healthy taste for champagne cocktails on the road.

The catwalk show was awash with sharp shoulders statement of Bernard Chandran, Alice + Olivia and Reem. With a gorgeous Black Feather shoulders, little black dress by Lipsy (who knew that would mark assets!). We had a fantastic sequel to that printing Issa, maritime and Jean Pierre Braganza. I will certainly investigate the Issa label for on-trend, bold pieces for the office.
